This is the production logging system for the large (about 72 kWatt DC) photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the Winston School, in Dallas, Texas. Its purpose is to provide the students and school with information about the energy production of the system.

The Winston School is known for incorporating solar into its science curriculum. Their solar-powered car completed the difficult 2003 Australian solar car race, and they sponsor the annual Winston Solar Challenge, a solar car race for high school teams.
